Shape Faces is a generative blockchain based art project constructing backgrounds and beings using fundamental geometric building blocks. Mathematical objects are the fundamental building blocks of our physical reality, and geometric shapes make up the background and foreground of Shape Faces NFTs. Shape Faces builds and conjures exciting and personable backgrounds and characters from the mathematical void of empty space and geometry.
From basic shapes, we build backgrounds and characters. We additionally add Animations and more rare background images to create a more elevated design. A lot of technology went into building Shapefaces. Firstly we generate all of our metadata from the blockchain during the minting process. Upon mint the blockchain stores a seed value that fully defines how the Shape Face will look. This methodology is similar to Art Blocks. Second we focus on symmetry and simplicity in our faces in order to build up from the mathematical void a series of shapes that trigger familiarity and humanity in the observers brain. Other projects like crypto punks start with hand drawn face shapes and build complexity on top of that. Our faces are simply Circles and Triangles and fully constructed using the basic geometric primites that is provided by the web browser using javascript canvas.
Proceeds from the project will go towards charities and organizations that help provide uplifting messages of acceptance and positivy to people of all faces. We have started by adding to our roadmap a large donation to FACES: The National Craniofacial Association which assists children and adults who have craniofacial anomalies resulting from disease, accident, or birth.
